    5 easy post workout tips

    Summer is almost here and we all are getting more serious about shedding those extra pounds. I love exercising and a good workout definitely leaves you more positive and refreshed. But did you know post workout routine is as important as the actual workout. Today I am sharing 5 easy post workout recovery tips that has helped me to stick to my workout regime and exercise on regular basis. Whether I am working out at a gym, outdoor or just doing exercise routines at home ,these steps actually help me look forward to the next workout routine .

    1.Stretch and cool down

    Exercise doesn’t stop at your last rep . Stretching and cooling down after a workout is very important too. It is essential to calm down those worked up muscles to avoid fatigue and soreness later . Cooling down also gets your heart rate down to pre exercise level .

    I would suggest you to at least devote 5 -10 minutes for cool down followed by stretching..

    2. Refuel yourself in a smarter way

    You need water to rehydrate but after an intense workout you need protein too. Protein is the key to re build stronger & leaner muscles. I feel so hungry after my workout as if I have lost all the energy in this world .  So after a couple sips of water I reach out my bag and grab a bottle of Odwalla smoothie. There are so many fitness apps available on your smart phone to track your food , workout and help you stick to your goals. You may invest in devices like Fitbit for the same.

    Tracking your progress will help you make healthier choices and modify your routine as you progress to achieve your health goals effectively.

    5.Finding your “ZEN” moment.

    A cool and calm mind is as important as a calm body. On the way back home from the gym I play some soothing music to calm down my nerves. Music therapy is indeed magical and fills you with lot of positive attitude. You may buy some cd’s or download free music online. I love creating a playlist on YouTube for the same. You may choose from variety of videos available for relaxation, stress relief, positive energy . I simply connect my phone to the car audio AUX. If you are walking back home , just put on your headphones and enjoy the relaxing tunes to sooth your mind and soul! Believe me it sure makes a difference!
