    about

A big warm welcome to my blog. Hope you have a great time here. This is me , Khushboo.

    profile picture

    A little about myself

I am a food enthusiast, recipe developer, food stylist , photographer ,author and techie  of carve your craving unless and otherwise stated.

    I am happily married for 7 8 9 years now and a mother of a cute 3 4 5 year old.

My husband is a big foodie as well . Always encouraging me to experiment ,  very supportive, open to new food ideas,  and a solid critic too.

On the other hand my son is a fussy eater. I need to constantly think about making his food fancy   looking, fun to eat yet balanced in nutrition.

I don’t have any formal culinary or photography  training nor I have blogged before , but I believe cooking  is a never ending  journey – plethora  of learning  – each day leads you closer to perfection.

On my cooking journey I have learned a lot of  traditional cooking from my mom and my mother in law.

Picked up tips and tricks along the way , Referred  to books, blogs, the worldwide web and most importantly experimented in my very own kitchen which boosted my confidence level

Yummy food + Happy family = Happy me.

    What is this blog about

Cravings – who doesn’t have one.

This blog is all about carving your inspirations, and turning them into a reality. We start with something simple such as a craving, a taste, a fragrance, a texture or even a simple ingredient and turn it to something spectacular. I like to think that everyone has an artist hidden in them and cooking is form of channelizing that creativity into something special.

This blog is for everyone who loves to eat and loves to cook.

All recipes on my blog are fuss free, simplified and  made with easy to source ingredient.

U will find only vegetarian and vegan recipes here.

    Why did I start one

Carve your craving is my humble effort to record and organize my cooking and baking experiments .

My folks say – being creative is my cup of tea. So I thought why not be creative with food . I would like to thank my family and friends who thought my recipes are share worthy . So here I am sharing my culinary journey with you.

    What can you expect here

Some cooking, some chatting  and loads of fun .

Like many of you I have a busy lifestyle too . I can’t spend a lot of time in the kitchen so I have to constantly come with quick and easy to make meals which looks appealing , tastes good as well as healthy .

Though we practice a very healthy lifestyle we do enjoy our share of indulgence.

Because it’s all about carving your craving and not curbing it . Hence you will find a little bit of everything here.

    From authentic to fusion

    Healthy to indulging

    Quick meals to elaborate ones

But everything with a sweet little twist.

Welcome to my world of experiments.

Most of my cooking is inspired by my Indian roots . I believe there no right or wrong  way about cooking something , and there are substitutes and ways to make anything taste great. I am an ingredient  person more than a recipe one. I love to work with things on hands and seldom make special trips to the grocery stores, let the ingredients do the talking .

Playing safe is not my thing . But sometimes thinking out of the box leads to unexpected results sometimes a big flop and sometimes a sweet success . But I try to work on my ideas again and again until I am happy with the outcome.

All recipes shared here are tried and tested by me several times in my very own kitchen and relished by my family and friends .

    MY INSPIRATIONS

    The grocery store

There is something about food that has always attracted me – the spices , the fresh produce , the fragrant herbs – so tempting . Whenever I walk into the grocery store I start getting ideas.

    My mom

I have grown up watching my mom make drool worthy finger licking delicacies and always wish to be half as good as her.

    My son

His imagination pushes me to make goodies outside my comfort zone , things which I have never tried before or never thought existed .

    Travelling

I love to eat out at various destinations and try to replicate the same at home with my own additions .

    More random facts about me

My favorite food’s – Mumbai street food , chatpata chat all kinds , smoothies , salads and bag of chips and guacamole.

I love spending time with my family especially doing fun projects with my son.

love love love baking – its so therapeutic

Fashion , fitness , food and dancing are my weakness.

I have studied fashion design from New York .

I love dancing, and sneak in few dance steps while cooking too.

I love Travelling – and most of my food inspirations come from eating at authentic places .

Diy projects – fashion ,home décor and scrap booking .

I like pretty looking things, cute cute  stuff including pretty looking food.

And after reading all this you must have realized – I am a big chatter box too.

Hope you have a great time on my blog and thanks for stopping by. Let’s get going and create some magic.

Khushboo, I tried your eggless-coffee-cake this past Saturday with some substitutes and what I had on hand like white sugar instead of brown sugar but it turned out wonderful! I have emailed you pictures of the end product and also more details of items I substituted a few minutes back but now that I have read on your blog here that you’re more of an ingredients person, it adds up that your measurements are exact! Thank you for an up to date, well noted, readily popping up recipe upon google search on the topic of interest.

Hi Khushboo , can I use your mango mouse without frosting recipe to make mango mouse cake? Will it turn out the same way?

Hello Bgamini, I did not understand your question. Which mango mousse without frosting are you referring to? I have a mango cake and a mango mousse recipe on the blog!

      Hi Khushboo
Just wanted to give you a big thank you for sharing such interesting recipes which even an occasional, highly inexperienced, and really clumsy cook like me could follow easily. I am a big foodie and really like to cook but apparently I was not genetically designed for cooking 🙂
Wanted to surprise my wife and sis on women’s day and was googling when I came across your recipe for healthy manchurian. I decided to give it a shot and after 1.5 hrs (against the 30 mins as per recipe) along with messing up with the recipe a bit (tea and tablespoon always confuse me and the manchurian balls looks like aloo tikkis)…the taste was awesome. My family (wifey/son/sister) just attaked it and finished comoletely. I was declared a god cook !!!! All thanks to you. I will now keep following this website and try more of your recipes. Keep up the great work and great experimenting with food.

Hi Khushboo I have made your chocolate cupcakes and thet are amazing. I like the way you have created the recepie to change when you amend the number of cupcakes you want to make it changes to grams which is so much easier and perfect. I have also made a batch of vanilla cupcakes but note that the recipe in grams do not change when you increase the number of cupcakes. Is it possible to amend and update so it works out automatically like the chocolate cupcakes please? Thank you.

Absolutely love your recipes . I made your salted caramel cake for my husband’s birthday though I skipped the caramel sauce on the top. With a 9 month old daughter I was sceptical about baking a cake forget about icing it. But your easy recipe with simple and quick steps made it a cakewalk. Thanks to u I frosted my first cake.. Thank u so much. And the cherry on the top my husband loved it .
